What happens with incoming number to OC softphone when logged off? RRS feed

    We have the scenario where we connected a Mitel to mediation server (direct SIP), calls to OC softphone arrive on the Mitel and are routed across the SIP trunk to ring the OC user, so far so good.

    OC user has simul ringing setup, so when call comes on the simul ring destination also rings.

    What happens when the OC user is logged off? Seems to be OCS should have the intelligence to point to "not logged on" destination like the simul ring destination or the forward destination. At the moment it seems that the call ends up in number unavalaible tone from the PSTN because the call dies..... A regular PBX can handle this, but haven't found to resolve on OCS 2007.

     

    Any comments/ideas?

    Hi Sponge,

     

    Your right, OCS should ring your sim ring number you have configured when you are logged off from MOC. I would do some logging on the mediation server and the front end server to see what is happening with your call. If you dont know how to turn on logging the voip trouble shooting guide can help:

    If you have exchange UM configured the call should redirect to it once it has reached your configured max number of rings which can be configured in MOC under callforward settings.

    Thanks for this info.

    We tested this with call forwarding setup, so when you log off OC client a call to the OC number will be delivered at the forwarding destination.

    But we want simul ring to be setup without call forwarding and if we log off OC client we get number unobtainable tone form the PSTN when dialling the OC softphone.

     

    We will do some tracing if this should work.
