renewed online but STILL getting the renewal notice on LiveOneCare page RRS feed

  • Question

  • I just renewed my OneCare 4 days ago online and I'm still getting the message on my Windows Live OneCare page to renew.
How long will this message be there?  It's annoying.

  • When did you renew?

Renewal takes effect on the date that your current subscription expires and that it can take up to 24 hours for the subscription status to be updated in OneCare if you are renewing within 30 days of expiration and 5 days if renewal was performed between 90 and 30 days before expiration.

     You can try the following:

    • Check your PC date and time.
    • Check your subscription status by logging in with your subscription LiveID at http://billing.microsoft.com
    • Confirm that this is the same LiveID shown to be the Subscription ID in OneCare - Help/About…
    • Open OneCare and click "Check for Updates" to have OneCare check for updated credentials

If your subscription is correctly shown at the Billing site, but incorrect in OneCare and your PC date and time are correct, please contact support.

  •  On my 'Billing Account Overview' page there are two (2) Account numbers.  The first one I believe I filled in error when I first used Live OneCare.  It states that I live in the US, but I actually reside in Canada.  How can I delete the wrong one which is:

    My Microsoft Billing Account

    Acct ID# 00000-00000-01899-64123 (Personal)

According to my 'Billing and Account Management 'page I correctly renewed my Canadian OneCare account online on Feb 21/2009 and am set until Feb 21/2010.

  • You can't delete the Billing account, but that still should not generally matter. However, it appears that it does if you followed the above steps and your local copy of OneCare still shows expired.
I think that you should reach out to support. If you run into the email only path:

Unofficial path - send me an email at sboots@mvps.org with a subject line including "OneCare" (to get past my spam filtering) and in the message body, tell me what country you are in, your forum nickname, and paste this link:
    http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/onecareinstallandactivate/thread/c058ce54-69e0-4e71-8429-8207140c2f7f

I am not online 24x7, so you may be waiting for a reply, but I'll do my best to hook you up with support.
If you don't get an email response from me wthin 24 hours, post back as my email provider is getting more aggresive with the spam filtering.
