Windows Live Writer RRS feed

  • Question

  • Read the few threads and tried the solutions but still no go.
Installed .NET 3.5 and even had it repaired. Installed Writer from the online file. Tried to start it but the splash screen shows for a good 2 seconds and disappear and nothing happens. Located the log file and here it is...

    WindowsLiveWriter,1.5352,Fail,00001,14-Jul-2009 23:06:16.171,"Unexpected Error Occurred

    can anyone shed any light?

  • This usually happens when you are using a server to roam your my documents folder.  The workaround is to not roam(which sucks for a lot of reasons).  We plan to fix this in our next release.

Is there any update on this?

I am using offline files to roam the Documents folder. Not roaming is not an option and I still like to use LiveWriter when I am offsite. Is there a workaround? For example make a certain folder available offline or change a registry key to use a different folder for the operation?
