Will OC2007 Run Stand-alone? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Will the OC2007 (not the server version) run stand-alone on a Vista Business, Office 2007 internet-connected machine?  There was no prior communicator or server installed.  No IM software. No exchange connection.  No interface with a phone system.

If OC2007 will run stand-alone, what features will it have or not have?  E.g., VOIP?

Documentation seems to assume OCServer2007 is also installed.  Features of OC2007 are blurred with those of OCS2007.

    Thanks, all !

  • Hi Dave...

Office Communicator 2007 is the client to Office Communication Server 2007 and without the server there is really no use to just have the client.

It will probobly start and you can look at the login window, but you cant do anything more.

So install the server and set it up against it and of you go..

    Regards
