Known issue or a bug with Messenger for Macintosh 7.0.1? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I do not know is this behavior an know issue but I would like to address it.

    Infrastructure:

-> File Transfer is globally disabled

    Scenario 1:

OC to OC scenario file transfer is not working.

    Scenario 2:

OC to Messenger for MAC (7.0.1) scenario file transfer is not working.

    Scenario 3:

Messenger for MAC (7.0.1) to OC scenario file transfer is not working.

    Scenario 4:

Crazy but true. Messenger for MAC (7.0.1) to Messenger for MAC (7.0.1) scenario file transfer is working although File Transfer is disabled globally.

    Ideas?

  • File Transfer is usually host-to-host communications, abd I'm assuming htese users are logged into the Windows Live IDs as well?  I haven't used the app yet, but I'd assume that traffic is NOT going through OCS at all.

  • Update - Messenger for Macintosh 7.0.1 (or doesn't matter which version) uses only the connection to OCS 2007. The global policies cannot be applied to MAC, unfortunately.

  • Good to know.

Jeff, the Mac client lets you sign-in with both your OCS and Live ID's, but the contact lists appear as two separate windows/instances so I wouldn't expect the transfer to fall back to Live account.
