Display iframes in Contact list view 4.0 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

Is it possible to override the functionality of the contacts list view to contain additional windows of child information? I need to display all cases for the selected contact in an additional window on the list. It needs to be refreshed any time a new contact is highlighted. Also, a 3rd window is required to display all notes for that case in a similar fashion.

It would look something like this:

    | John Doe
    | Jack Miller
    | Steve Thompson
    | Case 1        | Notes 1       |
    | Case 2        | Notes 2
    | Case 3        | Notes 3       |
    | Case 4        |                   |

If John Doe was selected, it would display his 4 cases, and if Case 1 is selected, it would display the 3 notes.

Even if you could do this, would it even be supported?

  • You'll need to write a custom ASPX page that implements the reqired functionality. You can not configure the MS CRM view to do what you want it to do in a supported way. (Any change in the default MS CRM aspx pages is not supported).

As long as you use the MS CRM SDK to build the page AND imbed it by modifying the sitemap, it will be supported customization.
