Is it possible to sync my "My Web Sites" folder with Mesh? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a folder that was created when I installed FrontPage that is under the "my documents" folder that contains 5 or 6 FrontPage web sites. The site are a total files size of .75 gigs. and I have plenty of room left in my Mesh limit. All other folders I set up with Mesh work great. I can't get my web sites located within "my web site" to sync to Mesh. Is there a problem with trying to sync Frontpage web site to Mesh? If so, is there a workaround to facilitate sync to Mesh please?

    Thank you for your consideration.

  • Since the My Web Sites folder created by FrontPage contains files that are not synchronized by Live Mesh, there is no workaround. The My Web Sites folder contains a structure of hidden files and the folder may also be seen as a System folder, I believe.

You cannot synchronize or share the following with Live Mesh:

    • Files containing obscene or copyrighted material. Copying or sharing unauthorized materials, including materials that you did not create or you do not have the rights necessary for use, is a violation of the Windows Live terms of use. See the Microsoft Copyright Notice and FAQ.
    • Files whose names begin with a tilde (~)
    • desktop.ini
    • thumbs.db
    • Hidden files
    • Windows Systems folders
    • Your Desktop directory folder (for example, C:\users\[myusername]\Desktop on Windows Vista or C:\Documents and Settings\[myusername]\Desktop on Windows XP)
    • Files and folders stored on removable media (such as an external hard drive, flash drive, or USB drive)
    • Files and folders stored on mapped network drives

Live Mesh also blocks files that have the following file extensions:

    • .bak
    • .gfs
    • .laccdb
    • .lnk
    • .mbf
    • .mny
    • .mpc
    • .pst
    • .sav
    • .tmp
    • .wlx
