looks like you were sold a Dell OEM recovery disk which is only valid for new computers shipped with win 7. demand a refund.
only purchase software from well known legitimate retailers.

From the looks of it, the original OS on this machine was Vista, rather than XP.
Contact Dell, and try ordering a set of Recovery disks for the machine from them.

you are using a win 7 OEM SLP key which requires a win 7 compliant bios. your bios date 4/2/2007 is well before windows 7 was released.
you will have to purchase windows 7 or revert to the windows your computer came with.
OEM SLP: This key comes pre-installed in Windows, when it comes from the Factory. This key is geared to work with the special instructions found only on that Manufacturer's computer hardware. So when Windows was installed using the OEM SLP key (at the factory) Windows 7 looks at the motherboard and sees the special instructions and Self-Activates

The computer came with windows xp professional. A month ago I purchased from what seems to be a well established distributor, a license for Windows 7 - CD came in the mail, etc.. Everything was ok until yesterday when I've updated some drivers ... that update seemed to had triggered this windows is not genuine message.Tuesday, March 5, 2013 4:39 AM
