MS office and Printers UK Only problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • Does anyone know about a problem with the followoing.

We have users who use Windows 2000 and office 2000, in many countries but seem to have a problem just in the UK.

The problem is that if a default printer is not at status ready I.E. it says low ink or offline then it seems to cause office programs to run slowly act strangely and even crash. Outlook is usually the worst affected and basically just moves along at a snails pace and then usually just gives up altogether and dies.

All the countries use the same Ricoh printers so it is not down to a specific model of printer as int he other countries it is fine.

As soon as the printer is removed as the default to another one that is at staus ready this problem goes away.

    Anyone got any ideas.

Also does the same if the printer server goes down.

    Thanks in advance
