Setting Up Bank of Stockton in PocketSense RRS feed

  • Question

  • For several years I had my BoS checking and savings accounts set up and working flawlessly in PocketSense.  About a year ago, the bank completely redesigned their online banking web interface, at the same time PocketSense was no longer able to access the OFX files.  From time to time I've done a little work in PocketSense trying to re-establish the connection.  Today I seem to have gotten closer than ever before, at least the list of "errors" is shorter than ever:

    BOS SAVINGS : xxxxxxxxxx : Getting records since:  20180318
    No (null) statement received
    **  Review .\xfr\BOSSAVINGS20180418110726505055.ofx for possible clues...
    An online error occurred while testing the new account.

    I've reviewed the .ofx file, it's blank.

    Does anybody have any ideas?

  • I suggest you identify the bank, or show the PocketSense descriptor.

    Bank of Stockton https://www.bankofstockton.com/

    Bank of Scotland https://www.bankofscotland.co.uk/

    Etc...

  • Bank of Stockton

    This is the setup that used to work before BoS made changes:

    <site>
        SiteName   : BOS Savings
        AcctType   : BASTMT #bank
        fiorg      : BOS
        fid        : 1001
        url        : https://internetbanking.bankofstockton.com/ofx/process.ofx
        bankid     : 121101037
        brokerid   :
        appid      :
        appver     :
        mininterval:
        timeOffset :
    </site>

    And this is what I used today:

    <site>
        SiteName   : BOS Savings
        AcctType   : BASTMT #bank
        fiorg      : BOS
        fid        : 3901
        url        : https://onlinebanking.bankofstockton.com/scripts/serverext.dll
        bankid     : 121101037
        brokerid   :
        appid      :
        appver     :
        mininterval:
        timeOffset :
    </site>

  • Maybe try this one... I am not at all confident, but the certificate works.

    <site>
         SiteName : Bank of Stockton
         AcctType : BASTMT
         fiorg    : BOS
         fid      : 1001
         url      : https://onlinebanking.bankofstockton.com/ofx/process.ofx
         bankid   : 121101037
         brokerid :
         appid    :
         appver   : 2400
         mininterval:
         timeOffset :
    </site>

    I tested it with username testname and 1234567 password. I got "No (null) statement received" also.

    If I then made a sites.dat entry without the bankid, I got an error saying I needed a bankID:

    ('** Error: Site', 'BANKOFSTOCKTON3NOBI', 'does not have a (REQUIRED) BANKID value defined.')
    An online error occurred while testing the new account.

    So that says to me that it is getting thru to the server.

  • Unfortunately, no luck:

    BANK OF STOCKTON : xxxxxxxxxx : Getting records since:  20180319
    No (null) statement received

    The .ofx file is blank.  My sites.dat file reads as follows:

        SiteName   : Bank of Stockton
        AcctType   : BASTMT #bank
        fiorg      : BOS
        fid        : 1001

        mininterval:

  • 1. What version is your Active State Python?

    2. Make sure you can still get into your bank's website.

    3. Is there no link on the website to download an OFX or QFX?

  • 1. 2.7.10

    2. Yes, I can log in and access all accounts.

    3. Yes, every day I filter the entries at 30 days and download a QIF file, import it into Money.

  • You might search for discussion on  ofxVer     : 103

    The newest AS 2.7 Python version is 2.7.13. https://www.activestate.com/blog/2017/01/activepython-2713 I am not saying that would help. If you had an SSL error, upgrading could help. For null return, I don't think so.

  • I downloaded and installed Active Python  2.7.13.2716, unfortunately the results are the same:

    BANK OF STOCKTON : xxxxxxxxxx : Getting records since:  20180320
    No (null) statement received
    **  Review .\xfr\BANKOFSTOCKTON20180420083857279440.ofx for possible clues...
    An online error occurred while testing the new account.

    The ofx file is blank.

    I'll take a look at ofxVer :103

  • I wonder if re-visiting the direct connect setup pages would help: https://www.bankofstockton.com/lib/pdf/Quicken-Win%20Conversion%20Guide.pdf Task 5.
