    http://(servername or IP)/Connect gives me a 404 error.

    Is this the correct way to connect?

    You could try <servername>:65510/connect. Can you ping the Server either by name or IP address? You ask if it is the correct way to connect - it is the correct way to install WHS Connector software on a client PC on the same network.
