How can I make a animated dropdown menu on my website? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I am trying to figure out what the best way is to make a animated dropdown box on the menubar.

I already saw this example on w3schools :

This is what I need but this is a simple dropdown listbox, I want to implement a animated version perhaps with javascript or just a simple .gif I dont know whats the best

So I need some light shred on the following:

when hover on menuobject: show animated dropdown list below

The animation I want is quite simple to I just want some lines to appear with a delay like this :

    First stage without hovering :

       HOME         ABOUT US       CONTACT

Second stage when hover over for example ABOUT US :

       HOME         ABOUT US       CONTACT

                        Who are we?

Last stage ( with lesser space between the line and who are we:

       HOME         ABOUT US       CONTACT

                       Who are we?

I want it to start from the middlepoint to left and right after having your mouse for like 0,5 sec hovered over About us or the underlaying lists.

Whats the best way to do this?
