Management Reporter, upgrading reports from FRx, corruption to the data. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am installing Management Reporter RTM. When using the Migration Wizard I got the "Windows Authentication is not supported by Dynamics GP" problem. I uninstalled and went back to the Beta version. The Migration Wizard ran and apparently converted my reports with only minor issues like page breaks. I exported the reports to a .tdbx. I looked at the row definitions in the Beta and found that they were all marked as requiring attention. I attended to an error but then couldn't save the row definition: "Unable to complete the operation because of corruption to the data". It seems to be a problem with every row definintion that I tried to save. I uninstalled Beta and went back to RTM, created companies and imported the .tdbx. I still have the same problem in not being able to save a row definition. Any suggestions please?

  • Phil,

I think you either need to recreate the reports by hand or wait for a fix to the Migration Wizard.  I've heard of a number of instances of corrupt or non-converted data.

    Sorry.

  • Hi Phil,

It sounds like you may be running into two issues.

    1. The corruption error is caused by non English-US regional settings. This is scheduled to be fixed, but in the mean time set your service accounts to run as English-US without impacting the actual end-users. Steps are listed here:

    http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/managementreporterBeta/thread/1b2e0ea0-a9cf-4acd-b95a-b785198e7cee

    2. The Migration Wizard stopped working when we went from Beta to RTM. Once you fix the first error you can manually create reports, wait for the update to come out shortly to fix this issue, or roll back to MR Beta to perform a migration.

My apologies on hitting a few different issues.

    Thanks

    Ryan
