Validation problem

Question
-
Hi,
I started my computer and got an error message 0xC004D401. It says that unauthorised changes have been made to windows. I tried to validate but the error window pops up and terminates the validation. I now have no control panel, I can't use system restore, I can't open the windows updating thing, nor can I open system properties. I ran the genuine advantage diagnostic tool and have pasted the results below.
I have recently had what I have learned is called the "blue screen of death". Is that related?
Please help me. I lost my home and business two years ago to an earthquake, L'Aquila in Italy. I am now poor and can't afford a new laptop if this one breaks, it is my only conduit to friends and family.
Thanks in advance, Paul.

This is a slightly odd variation on a theme..hopefully the following 'fix' will solve the problem......Please see the advice in the Note to Avast users post here....
