Windows 7, Build 7600, Service Pack not genuine RRS feed

  • Question

  • Ran into the issue of the lines at the bottom of the Home Screen saying -- Windows 7, Build 7600, This copy of Windows is not genuine.

I hadn't ran into this problem until I tried to update to the newest Service Pack -- it could be a corrupted installation causing it.

    Here's the MGDA

Click Start, type 'activate' and hit Enter.  The 30-day grace period has expired and you need to activate Windows.  If you did not enter the product key at the time of installation you will be prompted to do so now.

I doubt that the installation will activate - there is a File Mismatch present....

    File Mismatch: C:\Windows\system32\en-US\user32.dll.mui[6.1.7600.16385], Hr = 0x800b0100

I suggest that the OP tries a System File Checker scan first to see if that can repair the mismatch.
