Better SMS management RRS feed

  • Question

  • Better SMS management...

I'd like to be able to see my SMS messages from my PC

I'd like to be able to copy/move/archive my SMS messages on my PC

I'd like the choice to get my device to periodically ping to alert me that there was an SMS since the phone was last unlocked

I'd like to be able to send SMS messages from my PC when my phone is connected to my PC

    Hope that helps!

    Allen

Syncronisation of Text Messages & MMS's

I'd like to see Microsoft develop the native ability to sync text messages and multimedia messages between my windows mobile device and Outllook.  I'd also like to be able to compose both types of messages in Outlook on my PC and send them via my wondows mobile device.

A bit of colaboration possibly required here between the MS Office Team and Windows Mobile Team , however I believe there is a great need for this...

  • It would also be nice if the txt's were saved like a conversation like the palm treo does.  That makes it nice.

  • I agree with all these suggestions.

In the meantime, while we wait for Microsoft, take a look at Jeyo Mobile Companion ( www.jeyo.com ) - it's a good utility for SMS management in conjunction with your PC. Just a shame it doesn't handle MMS messages.

  • For those that want Threaded SMS,

take a look at Extreme Text.

  • yes yes yes

The better option would be to have SMS and MMS folders and Messages (tree) show up in Outlook within the navigation pain. This would allow full control of messages & folders. full SMS/MMS sync with Exchange would be great

SMS Messages are now being accepted/used more and more for business. (lets face it, it's easier than sending an email) so full sync with exchange server would be very very useful.

  • Thanks for the link Jack, but it gives me a page not found error.  A search on Bing.com gives a few links to Extreme Text

Another tool to consider - and this one seems to sync SMS messages with your device as well...where some of the others listed on the Bing search don't.
