incorrectly uninstalled windows 7, reinstalled on the same PC and key blocked RRS feed

  • Question

  •  think I uninstalled Windows 7 incorrectly. Didn't uninstall via HARDWARE FORMAT, and when I reinstalled back onto the same laptop again it blocked the key. When I installed it the first time and activated it, Microsoft said it is activated. After I reinstalled it on the same laptop(Had some probs with other programs, and I am not an experienced user) and the key was blocked.
    Appreciate any help!!

The product ID -068- Indicates a not for resale MSDN account. If you are not the account holder and you purchased this in a retail box, the box and it's contents are counterfeit. Demand an immediate refund from the seller

  • Your only incorrect action here is the purchase of a counterfeit copy of Windows.  There is no way to correctly install a copy of Windows using a blocked product key.  Microsoft blocked your key sometime after your purchase.  That is why your latest effort to use the key failed.  George has given you the details.  Next time don't try to save a lot of money by buying licensed software (Windows, Office, Creative Studio, etc.) at a heavy discount.  Stay away from eBay, Amazon Marketplace sellers (Amazon itself is fine), and web based discounters.  There are tens of thousands of these counterfeit copies on the web.  Avoid, avoid, avoid.  The safest source is the Microsoft Store.  It looks more expensive than the discounters, but as you have learned is not really.

You cannot cure this problem with an upgrade copy of Windows (that requires a genuine copy already installed).  You need a full licensed copy for BootCamp or Parallels.
