CPUs Not seen in Resource monitor and Task Manager RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an old server Motherboard with 2 ZEON single core hyperthreaded processors on it. In the last eddition of Vail I was able to see both cores and the hyperthread for each one, as in the Resource Monitor and Task Manager both said that I had 4 CPUs. Now that I have loaded WHS 2011 I only see two processors, which I presume means that WHS2011 is only seeing one processor?

is this true? I have looked for documentation on this but could not find It.

What are the limitations on the processors? Dual Colre? Quad Core? Dual Processors?

Should I remove one processor? Or would turning off the hyperthreadding option Help?

  • Windows Home Server 2011 supports:

    • One processor socket.
    • Up to 4 cores.
    • Up to 8 GB of memory.

SSe allows the same, and SBSe supports 2 sockets, up to 32 GB of memory.

I'm not on the WHS team, I just post a lot. :)
