File synchronisation via wcf. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Good Day.

    I am trying to create a simple client-server application that will allow me to have a two-way synchronization of files, between different clients and one remote server. I have found a useful project here http://bryantlikes.com/RemoteFileSyncUsingWCFAndMSF.aspx but the problem is that Bryant's code is doing only one way synchronization - from client to server.

    And attempt to set syncAgent.Direction = SyncDirectionOrder.DownloadAndUpload; rises NotImplemented exceptions here

    public override ChangeBatch GetChangeBatch(uint batchSize, SyncKnowledge destinationKnowledge,
                //out ForgottenKnowledge forgottenKnowledge,
                out object changeDataRetriever)

    Is it right that changeDataRetriever must return server side instance of object that implements IChangeDataRetriever ?

    Also there is no conflict resolving policy in this example. Can anybody suggest some basic steps or guidelines that I shall follow to implement this kind of functionality ?Or how can i use FSPWithCustomProviderSync example and expand it with remote abilities.

    Thank you.
