Windows XP Home RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently bought an XP-Home to install on an old Compaq desktop. Having tried several times without success, I thought that there was a fault in the CD.

A neighbour who knows more about PCs tried to install it and realised that my computer has a CD drive and not a DVD. He told me that the DVD no doubt became damaged and will not install properly. Now that I fitted a DVD, I would like to know how I can get a replacement DVD that can be used with my original key.

I contacted our local Microsoft Head-Office, which they kindly sent me an e-mail to an address that seems to be obsolete! I chased them again, and got another internet address which is again obsolete. It seems that this will go on and on.

Can anyone suggest where I can get this replacement and how to go about it!!
