I'm having a bit of a problem with this, i have searched in a number of places but still have not found the solution it says in the MSDN documentation that
OracleClient and OLEDB both support the connect timeout / connection timeout property
however when I use OLEDB and provide conenct timeout in the oracle connection string I get a "Multistep OLEDB error' when I use OracleClient , I get a parameter unsupported exception
Our application is a realtime callcenter application and It is critical to our application that we need to setup DB timeout to around 5 seconds (in case of DB fail), after which the call has to transfer to agent instead of lingering the system for a long time
any help on this would be appreciated,
Ive also checked out the ODP.net, the connection string provided at http://www.connectionstrings.com/oracle#12 for connection timeout gives parameter not supported exception, i cant find anything relvant in the ODP.net documentation
