Well Microsoft won't reduce the minimum point limit.
as they have stated....they will be giving CD's to 1000 top students they will give it to all 1000 top rank holders...no matter how many points they have.
then they will be choose top 63 students who crossed 10k barrier..i think around 25 people will make it upto 10k.
those crossing it will get special prizes and will be evaluated for being a microsoft student partner, not necessary they will become.
Well microsoft student partners will be getting lots of stuff from microsoft including Pen Drives....so, in this way the microsoft will use its remaining Pen Drives....so, nothing is going to waste ...lolz.
the thing which remains is the microsoft won't get 500 student partners, for which they won't compensate as they are getting student partners from other means also. There is a direct to apply scheme for microsoft student partner on the basis of one from one college. In this way they will get enough student partner.
Well friends this is my view and analysis, no one among us knows what the microsoft people think in this regard. So, lets wait and watch.

yes man microsoft is getting students from other means also. in my state (Gujarat), Microsoft conducted interview for the top 2-3 students of every college, and from them 1 was selected, if he passed the test.
But about the 1000Cds, to say you m8, the express cds, come in a pair of 2 1( cd contains some express editions, and other contains sql and learning resourcse). So only top 500 will be able to get the cds -
I think its worthless to state it right now to reduce the points.. because it will bring down the charm of the competition... But dont worry, microsoft is not so dumb....
They will bring down the barrier point according to their need at the declaration of finals...
its like if they want top 100, then they will bring down the barrier to make the top 100 ranked people eligible.. they can do it, but only at the time of final declaration.. right now its not possible..
so just chill guys.. continue your good work and you will get paid for it for sure

yes i joined late and i Don't think i will be able to qualify threating this as any other forum!! and any body can gone up to 5k points atleast? I don't think b/c

- 200 for imagine cup registration(2000 for India finals mean disqualification of others if any one from India finals registered)
- 1100 quiz (if registered and scored more than 80%---howmany quizes held??)
