Genuine Office Professional with 2 licences - 2nd machine failing Genuine Advantage RRS feed

  • Question

  • I think the machine previously had a unlicenced copy.  I have unistalled and reintalled and reactivated, yet it's still failing the test.

I've also run the 'fix' mentioned in another thread without success.
    Thanks

  • Hello renebet,

Your computer is reporting that it has a genuine retail license for Office Professional Plus 2007.

However, if the computer did previously have a nongenuine installation of Office, there may be remnants of this nongenuine installation gumming up the works.

You stated that you already ran the MS FixIt as mentioned in another post.  Could you indulge us for the moment and let us try that again?

Here is the MS KB article that has the FixIt:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919895

Please work thru Methods 1 and 2 of the article before you jump to Method 3.

Assuming you have arrived at Method 3, please run the MS Fix It.  But after the Fix It runs, immediately restart the computer.

Once restarted, open up Word.  At this point you should see the Offie Activation Wizard, so please activate Office online normally.  After activation, close Word and restart the computer.

Once restarted, and keeping all Office programs closed for the moment, visit www.microsoft.com/genuine and click on the Validate Office button.  Office should validate normally.  Restart once more.

After restart, now open up several Office programs to see if the nongenuine notices are being shown or not.

Please post back to let us know how you did :-)
