Manage your OneCare Circle RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have 3 computers networked, 2 Windows XP Professional and a Windows XP Media Center. On many of these replies you mention "Manage your OneCare Circle". I've looked on all 3 computers and cannot find where Manage your OneCare Circle is. All three are hubs.

  • Open OneCare.

On the main program window, in the left column should be that computer name at the top and below it "your OneCare Circle." The view in the main window is "your OneCare Circle" when the PC is a hub PC in the Circle. So, your 3 PCs, if they are activated with the same LiveID, meaning that they are part of the same Circle, will show all 3 computers in the main window with some details about the status of each.

  • This only tells you how to view your one care circle - how do you MANAGE it from a hub?

When you view your OneCare Circle, you can see the status of each PC in your Circle from the Hub PC. The management functions available to you are to remove the PC from your subscription and to turn on the firewall or virus/spyware protection if they are off. There are no other actions that can be taken from this panel.

You can configure Backup from a Hub PC if you set up Centralized Backup. That can't be done from the main screen.
