Dynamics for Outlook Problem RRS feed

  • Hi Everyone,
    I intalled the outlook CRM client yesterday, but am not able to access any of the CRM folders.  When I do, Outlook says "Navigation to the web page was canceled" and asks me if I want to download a .tmp file.  The contents of the file are below.  I have turned off the pop up blocker and have added my CRM server to the list of trusted sites.  I am using Windows Security Essentials and the Windows Firewall.  Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Hi Donna,
    Thanks for your reply.  I have actually taken this up with the Microsoft Support team and it turned out to be a problem with Outlook Connector for Hotmail.  Supposedly, the Outllook team is taking a look at the problem and are going to keep me informed.  Sorry for not updating everyone sooner.

  • Hi David,

    Here are the items I'd recommend checking:

    0. Can you login ok via the web interface?
    1. Install update/rollup 6 or 7  on the server and on the workstation?
    2. Verify Internet Explorer is your default browser
    3. Add the url of your server to local intranet. Verify that when you browse to it, it is listed as 'trusted site'.
    4. Turn off pop-up blocker
    5. Turn off Internet Explorer "Enhanced Protected Mode" for intranet zone
    6. Turn off Internet Explorer "Enhanced Protected Mode" for all zones
    7. Run the Outlook Crm Client Diagnostic

    If after the above you still can not configure the outlook crm client then try:
    1.  Make the user a local administrator on the workstation
    2.  Temporarily grant the user the administrator role in ms crm.

  • HI Alex,
    Thanks for the response.  Unfortunately, I am still having trouble.

    0. I can login to the web interface ok.
    1. I installed update 7 on the client.  The server is hosted by Microsoft.
    2. IE is my default browser.
    3. My server is a trusted site.
    4. Pop up blocker is off. 
    5, 6.  I don't know what enhanced protected mode is.
    7.  I ran the diagnostice, it says that the outlook client has been disabled and prompts me to fix, so I fix it, and it says it is fixed, but then if I run it again, it still says the client is disabled.

    The user is an administrator on the machine.

    Thanks again for your help, let me know if you have any more ideas.

  • You state the server is hosted by Microsoft.  Perhaps you didn't install the correct version of the CRM Outlook client?  You'll need the Online vs. the On Premise version.
