Off Topic: pirated copy of XP on my computer

  I had a man work on my computer to upgrade it from 98 to XP.  I thought he took care of  everything.  Well, come to find out he installed a pirated copy of Xp on my computer.  Can I reinstall 98 until I get my own copy of XP or Vista?  This is causing tons of problems with my computer.
