Choppy calls to OCS2007 attendant RRS feed

    Hello there,

     

    I have a strange issue. Inbound calls to OCS2007 are inconsistent. If I call an extension, the audio quality is great. If I call the attendant or get passed to voicemail, the calls are horribly choppy and network traces show one way audio only.

     

    any thoughts?

  • Is your Exchange UM server located at the same site as your OCS clients?  Do you use the UM role in Exchange to handle any calls that do not involve OCS?  How do non-OCS UM calls sound?

  • Make sure that your Gateway connecting to Exchange is configured with correct codec

     

    There are two main algorithms defined in the standard for G.711.The µ-law algorithm that is used in North America and Japan and the A-law algorithm that is used in Europe and other countries.
