Why buy windows 10 instead of buying windows 7 and upgrading to 10 for cheap? RRS feed

  • Question

  • First, sorry for putting it under networking. I didn't see any good category... Anyway, the questions basically spells it out. I can buy Windows 7 for like $40 and upgrade to 10 instead of paying $120 for it. From what I can tell it would work. The only problem I see that may happen is if you have to reinstall I am wondering if you won't be able to if it's after the free upgrade time, because it's technically still a windows 7 key. So if anyone could share some light on this and help me figure this out please reply. I have actually already bought windows 10, but I am very curious about the issue.

  • Nothing wrong with it.

After you upgrade from W7 to W10 you get a new W10 key print it or save it for reinstall.

FYI, if you use the Latest Windows 10 ISO you can do I fresh install and just active Windows 10 directly with the W7 or W8 keys.

You will still have a new W10 key once activated.

    Hope this helps,

    Jeremy
