Re: Trouble Validating my Office software

Question

I'm having the same trouble as above. The error message I get is:
The Microsoft Office Genuine Validation ActiveX Control has failed to install. To try installing again, click Retry. To continue to use the site without the control, click Continue.
The hotlink above will not connect for me.

If you are having issues loading the ActiveX control, that is different than the link in the post about "diagnostics".
To manually download and install the Office Genuine Advantage ActiveX control use this link: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?LinkId=58813
Then you can try to validate Office at: http://www.microsoft.com/Genuine/office/Validate.aspx?displaylang=en&sGuid=5bcf238c-4c9f-46ad-a7a7-e00a66576164

Splitting off post to it's own thread. This was done to cut down on the confusion caused by more then one person posting about an issue that may (or may not) be the same as the issue facing the person that originaly created the thread.
