pop up box on start up 'windows software protection RRS feed

  • im having a major issue when i startup my pc before it even gets to my desktop it has this pop up window 'unauthorized change has been made to windows, click this link to see how to fix it. so i did, and i saw these forums...and they didnt really help me alot. how am i supposed to do anything like uninstall something or fix anything when i cant even get to my desktop to do so....

    oh an i do have avast...but ive had it since i bought this computer...like 2-3 years and its been fine...i just dont get how im supposed to do anything when i cant get to the desktop all i have is a blank background and that pop up box

    You should have access to the Internet - the new version of Avast is the one with the problem - did you update it just prior to the problem?
    You can uninstall Avast while in Safe Mode.
    To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
    Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
    To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
