Internet acces troubles for HP Home Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I'm struggling with the setup of my home server / wireless router to obtain internet access to my home server.

    The network structure is:

    1. ISP Broadband router/IP phone modem. (Thomspon SpeedTouch)

    2. Connected by wire to a D-Link Draft-N Wireless router

    3. Connected by wire to the HP home server.

I guess is an inside/outside IP problem or port opening issue, I've tried a bit back and forth without getting there. Any guide for dummies somewhere?

Does the SpeedTouch modem have router functionality as well?  If so, it sounds like you have a double-NAT situation (2 routers).  Try putting the SpeedTouch in bridge mode (so that it doesn't function as a router).
