  • Question

  • Hi,

I am having issues posting on all forums. I receive a Timeout error but I instantly receive the error as soon as I click submit. Then, sometimes, some of my post will post, but a seemingly random amount of text. I have had to screen shot text and post the image (that works fine!)

Has anyone has a similar problem, as far as I can tell, my connection is Ok.

    Thanks

  • Here is the message that I receive, it's pretty generic. I receive this instantly after pressing submit. This message was when I attempted to post at another forum, where I am still receiving the error.

The problem seems pretty much related to your Local Network which is constantly loosing the connection. So Once you try to Submit your post it tried to connect but there wasn't any active connection / request available.

Please let me know if this helps. Hopefully i have answered you correctly.

    Thanks, Hasham Niaz

  • I actually expected that post to timeout but it did not, typical!

Posting lots of text to test...

  • Hi Rod !

Can please provide some more information, which browser you are using and your OS. Is this happened all the time, or it happened occasionally.

Seems like your issue has been resolved for now as you are able to post 2 replies in 2 minutes without having any issue. It might be due to your Network.

Please let me know if this helps. Hopefully i have answered you correctly.

    Thanks, Hasham Niaz

  • Hi,

Sorry, I wasn't very informative, typed that in a rush, not really expecting it to work!

I am using Chrome mainly, but have also tried in on FireFox & IE8, all with exactly the same message, next time I get the error, I will screen shot it an update it here.

    I am running on Win7 64-bit.

The problem is intermittent. I first thought it was due to a large-ish amount of text but as the above post would appear to prove, that may not be true. The problem is at work, so I'll check with our network guys.

    Thanks

  • Thanks Hasham, I do think you are right and it must be to do with my connection. What you explain does makes sense but on occasion, I will receive the error and some of my text will be posted but not all! I wasn't aware that text gets send in such a manner so that it could send/receive char by char?

I'll speak to our network guys.

    Many Thanks

    Rod
