Do I really need to re-install Vista with WGA? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi -

I recently bought a MAC (sorreee) and have my 2-year old Dell to my uncle, with my Vista installed. Before I did that, I partitioned my MAC's hard disk so I could install Vista there using my original CD, which I paid for. I thought that was cool but have found out since then it is not. My Microsoft Money program was working just fine for a few weeks, till I got the message about the invalid product key. I paid the $120 for the new product key and everything worked. Now I get the WGA Kit and I'm not 100% if I really need to install this. I tried, but there is not enought room in the partition. But rather than going to pester the people at the Apple store to increase the size of the partition, i wonder whether I really need to re-install this thing. My Vista wasn't really "pirated". If it was, it was from me to me...a trusted source. Meantime, all I really will be using will be my Money program and the ocassional access to a website or two. I do plan on getting the antivirus software for that partition. So can I just do what with what I've been doing since I input the new product key? Or will I get an "invalid product key message" again in a few weeks? I might eventually "graduate to Windows 7". Thanks for any help.

    Rafael
