Lookup and fields on lookup RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have Opportunity entity.  On Opportunity form there is an account lookup.  When I click to view and select an account, I can see a gridview with customer number , customer address etc...

Q1:  The javascript attached to the opportunity ribbon makes reference to the form customer number and address.  The script runs OK so I suppose that when we select an account GUID from the lookup, we also get all the other fields (such as customer number and address ) from it?  Am I correct?

Q2:  What do I need to do if after the user selects an account GUID and name , I have to place the corresponding customer number and address on the form?

Q3:  Is the gridview on the lookup editable?  IF yes, how do I do it as I need to add a couple more fields to it?

    Thank you!

  • Hello,

    Here is my response

Q1:  The javascript attached to the opportunity ribbon makes reference to the form customer number and address.  The script runs OK so I suppose that when we select an account GUID from the lookup, we also get all the other fields (such as customer number and address ) from it?  Am I correct?

MP: Not sure about your question but if you need additional fields, you can write a rest/soap call onchange of customer id that can fetch additional field based on customerid from customer entity(account entity)

Q2:  What do I need to do if after the user selects an account GUID and name , I have to place the corresponding customer number and address on the form?

    MP: Same as Above.

Q3:  Is the gridview on the lookup editable?  IF yes, how do I do it as I need to add a couple more fields to it?

MP: No, lookup view is not editable, but you can customize and add the columns that you want to add, from lookup view in account entity.
