WHS connector from browser(server:55000) not connecting on wireless laptop, broken link.

  Laptop shows server in network but can't get it to connect to WHS. I am using a trial version to see if it works for my business but for some reason, wireless wont connect to WHS. Wired PC's work great. Could it be my router?(Linksys WRT54GS w/updated firmware) Laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1500 with Vista Home Premium. Could I wire it into the network just to install the WHS console? I know that it is probably a redundant question so a little sarcasm won't hurt me.
