BOOTMBR corrupt RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I was moving some data from my old WHS (2003) over to the new WHS (2011) and I noticed that some updates had downloaded and installed and it was waiting for a reboot, the time left for the 'move' of the data was 2 hrs, so I postponed the restart of updates for 4 hours...

When I went to my server this morning, it had rebooted and looked to have stopped at bootup (there were errors that all the files from the 2003 server hadnt completed) so I restarted the 2011 server only to get the message BOOTMBR is corrupt.. MS UPDATES for you!!!

So I inserted the disk and booted the 2011 server again, it started the repair and got as far as loading the setup files and just stopped at the end, I left it a good 10 minutes and nothing..

    Any ideas are GREATLY appreciated

  • Just wanted to update people incase the same happens to them, I left the server off overnight and then came to it the next morning and it was fine, booted up straight to the OS no issues at all.

So all a bit weird IMHO
