Hello,
I have an end of December 2006 Sony Vaio VGN SX330P/B that I installed Sony's Vista Express Upgrade on. It then became Windows Vista Business Edition. Things were fine regarding Genuine Advantage and downloads that required it at Microsoft.com UNTIL I purchased and installed my Windows Anytime Upgrade to Windows Vista Ultimate a couple of days ago.
Now every time I try to download anything from Microsoft that requires Genuine Advantage, Internet Explorer just freezes after clicking on the Continue - Validation Required button.
Yes, Windows Vista Ultimate is activated. I even went to http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/ and performed both the Validate Windows and Validate Office functions...they both run successfully.
The Validate Windows button returns the message:
Thank you for validating your copy of Microsoft Windows.
Thank you for using the Windows Genuine Advantage program. You may now access resources for genuine Windows users.
The Validate Office button returns:
Validation Successful!
Thank you for using genuine Office and participating in the Office Genuine Advantage program. You may now enjoy all the benefits reserved for genuine Office users. Genuine Microsoft Office® provides unique value, ongoing updates, and enhancements from Microsoft that counterfeit versions of Office do not. With genuine Office, you’ll spend less time keeping your software current and more time generating professional-looking documents for home or school.
How do I get past this? I'm clearly a licensed Windows Vista customer yet I can't download from Microsoft?
Thanks in advance,
DwightH
