My WHS back up 3 laptops and one desk top pc's. The laptops are all Dell and one runs Vista, one runs XP and one runs Windows 7. All three connect through a wireless Dlink network. All three connect and backup normally. The desktop connects directly
to the Dlink 625 router, not wireless like the laptops. As I stated all 4 connect to the WHS and execute all actions normally. When the desktop starts a backup it gets to about 6% and then stops. It looks like it's backing up but that is as far as it gets.
The system has Network Magic on it which is a network management too that Dlink bundles with it's routers until Network Magic was bought by Cisco. Please help. The server is a home built on an Intel motherboard with a core 2 processor. It has two
2TB drives and one 1TB drives. The only major difference between the laptops and the desktop is the laptops are wireless. I have run chkdsk/f on the desktop and no change. I have disconnected the network magic and it did not make any difference. The desktop
used to back up until the system crashed and I had to replace the motherboard and CPU. Same drives and OS. Any help is appreciated.

Please use chkdsk /r to check the drive.

Kariya 21, Thanks for the suggestion. I did a chkdsk /r as suggested and the system would not boot. It entered into a continous loop. I reinserted my Vista installation disk and did a repair. It did another chkdsk and booted back to its original state.
I then closed Network Magic and all uneccessary applications and did a Manual backup. It ran all night and never got past 6%. Please help. Are there any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.
