  • Question

  • Hi all,

I have a problem after I have installed the microsoft dynamic crm for outlook.

I can use the CRM in outlook without IFD,but when I setting up the IFD,I can't finish the crm for outlook wizard,I put the url(eg:https://orgName.micro.com:444) into the

    Server URL(s),it didn't connect succeed.

so,I want to know, whether if the IFD is necessary for Microsoft dynamic CRM for Outlook?

  • Hi,

If you are trying to configure Outlook client inside the internal network then you dont need to configure IFD.

If you are trying to configure Outlook client outside the network then you should have IFD configured for CRM2011.

  • Hi,

To configure Outlook client for IFD all you need to provide Server URL (as you did).

There are few common things to check when configuring IFD:

    - Make sure client and server times are not more than 5 minutes off each other

    - Client should trust the endpoint on the server, to check if it, open https://orgName.micro.com:444/XrmServices/2011/Discovery.svc in Internet Explorer and make sure it's accessible and does not have certificate errors.

However, it's hard to establish what's going wrong without log information...

To troubleshoot further, could you post the information from:

    c:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\MSCRM\Logs\Crm50ClientConfig.log
