I deleted my synchtoy dat file RRS feed

    I have 2 externall hard drives i keep files on...1 is my main the other a back up

    I deleted the dat file in the main by accicdent the other day and ran synchtoy on ECHO which i thought would act as normal and bring the back up external up to date with the main external

    How ever it did create all the new files but didnt delete a lot of the old stuff

    Question is... is there a way to exactly mirror what is on my main external with out deleting everything on my back up exteranl and simply copying across?

    Hi,

    You did you mean that when you ran again with Echo action it deleted old files on backup and you are trying to retain the old files on backup.

     

    If you use Contribute action, "New and updated files are copied left to right. Renames on the left are repeated on the right. NO deletions.".
