CRM 2011 Deployment Manager Crashes when opened RRS feed

  • Hi all, 

    i am getting the following error, when i try to open deployment manager it crashes.

    we had recently installed crm on a live instance with (NLB) please advice and also let me know what could be the error, Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for your reply, yes we have done SQL clustering and as you see we also have two IIS application servers!!

    The issue is fixed, the problem was that during installation the system user who installed CRM 2011 was given only a temporary domain administrator access.. which during installation also made him the deployment manager, IT fellows had removed the user from the admin role,

    As this was not communicated properly by the IT  -- when the above error occurred, we tried all solution to resolve it,

    finally today to try.. we gave CRM installed user with domain admin privileged and tried to open deployment manager it worked!! ( sign of relief )

    Knowing the mistake we are re-installing the server again!!

  • Hi Prijil,

    There are special configurations that you need to perform when configuring CRM 2011 in Network Load Balancing. You may find those in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Implementation Guide. 

    That being said, I had an issue opening the Deployment Manager that was very similar to yours. Here's what I would suggest: 

    • Take a look at this registry key: KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSCRM\ServerUrl
    • Verify if the value makes any sense. 
    • If it doesn't, backup the registry key
    • Update the value of the ServerUrl
    • Try to Open the Deployment Manager

    If you are lucky enough to open the Deployment Manager successfully, please configure your CRM Deployment for NLB as per the Implementation Guide.

  • I also see two Microsoft SQL Servers in your Remote Desktop Connection Manager. Did you clustered those SQL Servers after the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 installation or made any changes?

  • Though it is great that you fixed the issue, I am still having the same problem.  Deployment manager is still crashing.  Even after following steps proposed by MaximeFortier.
