issues & risks are not moving to the reporing database RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I manually restored the projects sites and relinked them with their projects. All works fine, I can open the projects sites and enter issues, risks, tasks…, my second mission was to build some reporting dashboards. I browsed the reporting database but noticed that issues and risks are not moved there as it’s supposed to be, I can find them in the content database, but not in the reporting database.

I created and published a new project schedule with a new project site, I entered few issues & risks, I browsed the reporting database and I couldn’t find them there either.

I want to retrieve them from the reporting database, how can I fix this issue, please help?

  • Hi,

Have you customised the risks and issues lists at all? Sometimes if you make changes to the lists, like delete the OOB columns or rename them, the sync with the reporting db will no longer work. You will be able to see an error for this in your queue or ULS, are you seeing any?

You should also be aware that if you customise the lists and add new columns and do some clever things with content types, the new columns will only be available in the ContentDB and not the ReportingDB, in such cases you would need to use something like webservice calls to get the info, or products like SLAM or iPMO data miner to get the data.

Let us know re the errors and customisation status?

  • Thank you Alex

    No customization

I used two approaches to manually restore the projects sites
      1. I created totally new projects sites and moved to them the original contents manually
      2. I saved some project sites as templates and linked them with their projects schedules

And yes, the synch with the reporting database is not working, and I need to make it works sooner or later :)

  • Have you published these projects? The reporting database gets updated on the Project Publish. Issues added in the Project Sites do not display in the RDB and reminders until you publish the projects.
