Windows 7 ultimate installation problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey everyone,

I was wonder if anyone could help with this unusual problem.  I have just purchased a brand new HP Pavilion dv7-7047cl which it has windows 7 Home Premium, and I have legitimate OEM version of WINDOWS 7 Ultimate,

First I came to upgrade my hp windows with windows 7 ultimate with the upgrade option, it rejected and said I have to install the advance option which I had to create new partition that I wanted to do so and as a result, it deleted all data.

Then I did created the new partitions and start the installation, but after going through copying and installing, it reboots the computer then it comes back staring to complete the installation THEN a message comes and SAYS windows can not complete installation on your computer.  So it does not install the windows 7 ultimate, however as I have other windows disc such as vista home basic, and windows 7 home premium, it does install it with no problem.

it will great to hear your comments.

  • you did not state the problem in a question.

its obvious of other versions of windows can install properly then either 1: that windows 7 ultimate disk is scratched to much.
    2: crouppted data

stick with home premium, pointless to upgrade to ultimate.
