I thought there was an 80 / 20 rule for work software? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I work at a company who has licensed Microsoft Office for me at work.  My understanding was that if I use my home PC for work and don't use it more then 20% of the time that the software could be loaded on my home PC to receive documents and work when needed from home on my PC.  Please respond with the proper license rules and I will un-install the tools and only use my work PC if this is the case. My company has licensed 1000's of copies and I will get them to pay for additional licenses if needed.  I think I will no longer get Microsoft updates and have already disabled auto-updates.  I logged on to work on a Saturday and have to spend an hour trying to figure this out, just not worth my time.
