Vista Business Validation Problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I was searching though the Microsoft Website when I was prompted for validation. Thinking there would be no problem as my copy of Vista is activated, I went ahead. Then I get hit with "Windows must be activated before validation can determine if this copy of windows is genuine". Code at the bottom of the webpage was [0xC004C4A6].

Found this somewhat strange as according to System, windows is activated. Hope you can help.

Here are the results of the WGA diagnostics tool:

  •  Hello,

Could you try phone activating to see if that would solve the issue.  You can open a command prompt and enter

    slui 4

Then go through the prompts.  Let me know how this works out, please.  Thank you!

Have you recently changed your hardware a few times?

  • A few hours or so before the original post I was using a dual monitor setup, but my primary monitor had stopped working so I removed it for now and am now using the secondary as primary. Also I had updated my dvd drive's firmware not long before.

Those are the only hardware related changes I can think of, nothing else has been touched since the installation of Vista.

  • Hello again,

I tried phone activation instead and am glad to say it was successful

My copy of Windows Vista is now activated and classed as genuine.

Thank you both for your quick and helpful posts.

    Kiriyami
