  • Question

  • I have exactly the symptoms described in the KB 950680 down to the traceback in the description.. I asked for the hot fix. It was e-mailed to me and I installed it.

    The install said it was happy. The problem did not go away!  Looking further, I found, in the log file created by the hot fix, were following  the following four lines (folded in the this message):

    11:39:17|   Info| DEBUG: Error 2746:  Transform PK2ToFK2 invalid for package C:\WINDOWS\Installer\92b64.msi. Expected product {8DD75D83-D4A1-43AE-80C4-28480F69E419}, found product {BC8DD950-8100-42F4-9EA9-26FCD41690AF}.

    11:39:17|   Info| DEBUG: Error 2746:  Transform PK1ToFK1 invalid for package C:\WINDOWS\Installer\92b64.msi. Expected product {E43FF076-9593-40C9-8238-7AF0E2D74F69}, found product {BC8DD950-8100-42F4-9EA9-26FCD41690AF}.
    11:39:17|   Info| 1: 2746 2: PK1ToFK1 3: C:\WINDOWS\Installer\92b64.msi 4: {E43FF076-9593-40C9-8238-7AF0E2D74F69} 5: {BC8DD950-8100-42F4-9EA9-26FCD41690AF}

    Microsoft documentation on the MSI install says means the wrong product was found.

    I have CRM Version 4.0.7333.3

    The Hot Fix had the URL:

    http://hotfixv4.microsoft.com/Microsoft%20CRM%204.0/nosp/KB950680/04.00.7333.1025/free/346967_intl_i386_zip.exe

    So what do I do now?

  • There are additional fixes to address workflows and other system jobs not running.
    I have put together a list of some of the fixes for this problem:

    Also http://blog.customereffective.com/blog/2008/09/more-fixes-for.html

    I would recommend that you install the .net 3.0 SP1.  That was the latest resolution that I found that worked.

    If these don't work, you really will want to call Microsoft support.

  • .NET 3.0 SP1 was installed. The real question is why the hotfix is expecting product code 'xyz' when the product code of the current installation of CRM 4.0 is 'abc'.

    Even more disconcerting is the fact the HOTFIX says it installed correctly when in reality it did not; it was this fact that lead to a bunch of wasted effort searching for other solutions until we checked the actual file versions on the server and discovered none of them had been updated.
