Can't recieve Instant Messages in Office Communicator RRS feed

  • I have a user who can send Instant Messages, Use the RCC featire of Communicator to make and recieve calls, Presence shows available and changes when user is busy or whatever correctly. When we send an IM to them we get this response

    username could not be reached and this message was not delivered.

    Has anyone seen this

    No one else has this problem. It is from install. We have several hundred working just fine.

  • Take a look at that user's account in Active Directory and verify that they don't have the otherIpPhone attribute populated with anything.  Look under the Telephone tab on the Other... button next to IP phone.  If there is a value remove it, there is a bug in OCS R2 which causes the above behavior when that attribute is non-null.
