Not able to use added hard drives RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

Forgive me for being a WHS newbie, first day on the job as it were.

Until a few hours ago, my WHS had a single 80g drive, split about 20 / 60 on the sys and data. I then added 2 x 1TB drives, and using the console, I have added them to the pool, all 3 drives now reporting healthy Smile

When I now try to copy about 90g over to one of the shared directors, it says...

"There is not enough space on #sharename#. You need an additional 34.3GB to copy these files."

Err, but WHS is reporting I have 1.87TB free out of 1.89TB

    Any idea's?

    Thanks,

    Russ.

  • The 2nd partition on the first drive (60GB in your case) is the maximum you can copy at a time. You need something bigger than 80GB if you want to copy more than 60GB at a time. After drive extender moves the data to the terabyte drives, you can copy another 60GB.
