2016 PowerPoint ActiveX Control Issue

Question
-
OK just spent 2.5 hours on the phone, just to have my issue escalated to the point that they sent me to the professional support. Now I only need to drop 500 dollars to have my issue looked at... sorry venting...
I have a PowerPoint slide with active x controls on it. The slide works as it should. However, when I copy the slide or duplicate the slide the controls show up on the new slide but when I click on them nothing shows up in the properties pane window. Its as if they are no longer active x controls. This ability worked in previous versions of PowerPoint. I am currently using PowerPoint 2016 part of the Home Microsoft Office Subscription.
Where should I ask my question - Not sure from the descriptions of the Forum titles.
Thanks MD
