Vista Build 6002 "This copy of Windows is not genuine"

Question
-
Hi there,
A few days ago I got this error message and my desktop background turned black. My system was reset a few weeks ago and I had a lot of Windows Updates to go through, including reinstalling Service Pack 1 and Service Pack 2. After I reinstalled SP1, I was no longer being asked to "Activate Windows", but the problem returned after I installed SP2.
My problem is the sticker on the bottom of my laptop has entirely faded - this machine is almost 4.5 years old. I'm not sure where else to find an activation key. I don't even know if I have the disc or instructions that originally came with my laptop as I've moved several times over the past 4 years.
Any suggestions?

When you said your system was 'reset' a while ago, I was hoping that you'd used the manufacturer's Recovery system for the task - it appears I was wrong.
The problem is that only the proper manufacturer's Recovery media contain the License for the OS, which has to be present for the system to self-activate properly at every boot.
A retail or other disk doesn't contain the right information.
You have a number of options. (roughly in order of expense)
1) telephone MS Activation Center, and see if you can persuade them to part with a new Key (sometimes it works, and sometimes not)
2) contact the manufacturer, and order a set of Recovery media - then do another clean install with that.
3) Live with it
4) purchase a Full Retail copy of Windows 7 and install that
5) purchase a new computer.

Of you're lucky, it's a simple case of Licensing Store corruption....
The problem appears to be in the Licensing Store - please try the following.....
Recreate the Licensing Store with the correct data.
1) Open an Internet Browser window.
2) Type: %windir%\system32 into the browser address bar.
3) Find the file CMD.exe
4) Right-Click on CMD.exe and select 'Run as Administrator'
5) Type: net stop slsvc (it may ask you if you are sure, select yes)
6) Type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareLicensing
7) Type: rename tokens.dat tokens.bar
8) Type: cd %windir%\system32
9) Type: net start slsvc
10) Type: cscript slmgr.vbs -rilc (It may take a long time for this to complete, please be patient)
11) Restart your computer twice. You may be asked to enter your COA Key and/or Activate - if you can't read the sticker, cancel the request.
Once complete, run another MGADiag report and post back with the results.

Hi Noel,
Thanks for helping out! It still asks for a key, but this is the most recent MGADiag report:
